Question by linda528: Why can diet soda replace certain ingredients? Why can diet soda replace eggs,oil, and water in a cupcake recipe?? I need to know the science behind it and i cant find the answer! Please help!

it only replaces the water!! it does not replace the eggs and oil needed.
